GENERAL MEANING OF THE SYMBOL OF REGENCY KUNINGAN

With the spirit of capital dynamic, constructive, sportsmanship, the spirit of upholding justice, eliminate kebathilan, could struggle to build and devoted to Allah SWT to create a just and prosperous society based on Pancasila and the Constitution of 1945 in the Republic of Indonesia.

MEANING OF SYMBOL ELEMENTS

Base
Shield-shaped emblem of the Republic of Indonesia means peace, security enforcement Pancasila and 1945 Constitution and a state symbol that is always safe, peaceful and prosperous.

Stallion
It symbolizes the dynamic nature of the brass community, constructive, creative, sporty, enforce the spirit of fairness and eliminate kebathilan. In the history of struggle and the guerrilla Kuningan ancestors in Kuningan regency, horses used means of transport and also used as a tool of struggle, and is famous for Leutik-leutik Kuda Kuningan (Kuningan Small-small horse).

Mount Ciremai
Kuningan shows are at the foot of Mount Ciremai, the highest mountain in West Java with a fertile soil, the air is cool and comfortable, suitable for area attractions.

Five Rivers Water Waves
Water symbolizes that the District Kuningan river has five major rivers, namely Cisanggarung, Cijolang, Cisande, Cijangkelok and Citaal river.

Yellow bowl
It symbolizes the history of the birth of the Duke of Kuningan which later became the first head of government in Kuningan on April 1, 1498. Yellow bowl also be interpreted as a symbol of the birth of Kuningan District Government on September 1, 1498.

Paddy
It symbolizes fertility in the field of food.

Cotton
It symbolizes fertility in the field of clothing.

Green : Prosperity, coolness, calmness and expectations (optimistic)
White : Purity, cleanliness, honesty, fairness and authority
Black : Upright, strong, true, powerful and fast
Blue : loyalty, obedience, compliance, greatness of soul, liberal-minded, soft feeling, humility, and high-minded
Yellow Gold : Welfare, religious, greatness, grandeur and stateliness

Kuningan Soon Have Batik Typical Region

Batik has been defined by UNESCO as cultural heritage of Indonesia. This determination in terms of existing conditions, where the Indonesian nation has developed this heritage since ancient times. In response to this award, not an exaggeration if every region in Indonesia is currently trying to develop the distinctiveness of batik in each region. For certain areas, there had been the motives which is the typical, such as mega cloudy from Cirebon, Garut batik with bright colors, and so forth.

Unfortunately, Kuningan District does not have its local batik motifs. If anything, the new motif was developed by a particular group and its marketing was limited. Though Kuningan District has cultural diversity, history and regional characteristics, which was already known, such as horses Kunigan, Fish Gods, beauty Ciremai, Linggadjati Building, and so forth.

Based on the consideration that Dekranasda Kuningan District held a Special Kuningan Batik Design Competition which a total prize of 16.5 million dollars. It turned out pretty good open interest of participants, seen from the work of approximately 150 participants coming from various backgrounds. Of the 150 works of the participant, the best 20 results will be selected by the jury, who are competent in their fields, including batik designer from Bandung, Cirebon batik artists and cultural Kuningan. Of the 20 participants will be selected the best six whose work will be batik unique patented Kuningan. To become the best 6 of this, participants must present the philosophy of the twentieth batik motif and accountable for the results of his work that his work is original work, not plagiarism.

Judging will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2011 in Building Sanggarriang Kuningan. Judging the event will be toned well with batik exhibitions, exhibition of participants' work, batik clothing fashion shows, and learn batik. To learn batik batik exhibition and activities will be held at the Studio page cheerful and open to the public. Kuningan

Kuningan is a city and regency in eastern West Java, Indonesia, between Cirebon and Tasikmalaya, about 200 km east of Jakarta. The area is near Mount Cereme/Ciremai (3.078 m), the highest mountain in West Java. The mountain is located in the western part of the region. The eastern part is a valley. The city's landmark is a horse, called Kuda Kuningan and its motto is Kuningan Aman (Safe) Sehat (Healthy) Rindang (Leafy) Indah (Beautiful) which always be called Kuningan ASRI.

The population of the regency is about 1.1 million. Most of the people are Muslim and ethnically Sundanese.

History
Kuningan took part in Indonesian history when the Linggadjati Agreement was made between the Indonesian and Dutch governments on November 15, 1946. Linggardjati is a mountain village located in Kuningan.
